They don’t want any competition as they want Pokemon to be the only one in the Mon genre and they view anything like Pokemon as a threat to their monopoly.

Moco Moco Friends is another game very similar to yokai watch that comes to mind
Now since im a big girly girl i went for moco moco but when i finally got yokai watch i pretty much instantly fell in love with it
I think what made me less interested at first was first of all, not really that cute and then also it looked like it would be one of those Edgy Cringey games everyone makes fun of. (And yet Moco Moco is very obviously a little kids game lmao)
I do seriously wish both of them got a bigger fanbase bc Honestly. Really. Good.
I just recently got into yokai watch and honestly I’ve been missing out on so much
I was one of those people you didn’t care for it because it was “just pokemon” but as a big pokemon I fell in love with it because of that and it has its own nice charm
So honestly why do pokemon fans say that they don’t like yokai watch??? Because it’s like pokemon??? Bitch if you like pokemon then what’s the problem????
